Night Outreach. Our Rahab volunteers run weekly street-based night outreach in West Reading. We go out in teams of two to three people, up to four times a week.  Meeting at 9:30pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and 10pm on Fridays. The session usually finishes at 11pm, except on Fridays when we finish around 12:30/1am. However, on busy evenings these hours can sometimes be extended.

We take supplies which we hand out to those we see.  These include chocolate bars, drinks cans, hot drinks, contraception, sanitary items, rape alarms, and clothing depending on weather.

The Team Leader sets the walking route and we will text those we are in contact with to let them know we are out.  Conversations may be long or short, but all help to build relationship.  Sometimes people we may approach are working, and therefore might not want to engage in a chat, but we are able to give supplies.

Daytime Support. We offer a number of different services for our clients, including:

  • Prison / Hospital Visit
  • Advocacy at Appointments
  • Signposting to other services
